Jannie Geyser aquires a Rhema 2
Formula Vee
Chairman, Jannie Geyser, has purchased the ex Andre Van Der Merwe
Jnr Rhema 2. He is hopeful that the car will prove to be quicker
than his aging Vision. He has however experianced a number of
teething problems with the new car. Hopefully these will be
resolved, before the next round of the Championship, at Phakisa on
the 29th July.
Andre Van Tonder makes his Formula Vee
Racing Debut
After two attempts,
to launch his National Championship Formula Vee racing career, it
was third time lucky for Andre Van Tonder, when he eventually lined
up on the Zwartkops starting grid, at the end of June. After
mechanical problems with his Tasman, at both the WesBank Raceway and
Kyalami, Andre aquited himself well in his first race and finished
the second heat unlapped, in eighteenth place, after finishing the
first heat one lap down, in twentieth place.

East London Formula Vee Race Report
Lucky Thomaides makes his South African
Formula Vee Racing Debut
After competing in
the German Formula Vee Fortieth Anniversary Race, at the
Nurnburgring last year, Lucky has acquired the ex Chris Danks Rhema 2
and made his local Formula Vee racing debut at the East London Grand
Prix Circuit. He experienced gear selection problems in the first
heat and was then excluded for being six kg underweight, on the car
plus driver weight limit. In the second heat, things went a lot
better for him and he just missed out on a National Championship
point, after finishing the race unlapped, in thirteenth place.
Jannie Geyser back in the points
Formula Vee
Chairman, Jannie Geyser, was relieved to be back in the points at
East London, after a dismal start to the 2007 season. After
finishing seventh in the Championship, in the 2006 season and having
had the motor rebuilt during the off season, he was badly down on
revs, at both WesBank Raceway and Kyalami. With the long gap between
the Kyalami Pro Tour race meeting and the third round, at East
London, Donald Johns rebuilt the motor and at the East London race,
he was finally able to open his points tally for 2007, picking up
eight National Championship points on the day.

hasty repair job, he brought the car home in fourteenth place, in
the second race.
Mixed Fortunes for Formula Vee Debutants
A number of other
